A man is dead after a hit-and-run at Kennedy Road and Denison Street in Markham’s south end, York Regional Police say.
He was struck at the intersection around 7:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the driver of the vehicle did not stay at the scene after the man was struck.
Kennedy Road is closed in both directions between Denison Street and Clayton Road as police investigate.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area for the time being.
