A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in a parking lot in Brampton, Peel police have confirmed.
It happened at the Wal-Mart on Coventry Road, in the Airport Road and Queen Street area, shortly before 7 p.m.
The victim died at the scene.
Information on the victim's gender or age, or the circumstance surrounding the incident was not immediately available.
The driver of the vehicle involved has been taken into custody, police said in a tweet shortly before 9:30 p.m.
They are facing a charge of dangerous driving causing death.
Police continue to investigate at the scene.
