Toronto police have identified a suspect sought in connection with a shooting in the city’s east end Thursday night.

The victim was shot in a lane on Felstead Avenue, near Danforth and Greenwood avenues, at about 7 p.m., police said.

He remains in an intensive care unit at a Toronto hospital.

Police said there was a verbal dispute involving a group of males, and the suspect left the scene and returned a short time later with a handgun.

During a second confrontation, the victim was shot once in the back, police said.

In a news release issued Friday night, Toronto police identified the suspect as 19-year-old Javell Jackson, of Toronto.

He was last seen in a black 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe with Ontario licence BPBZ 292.

Jackson should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
