Halton Regional Police are looking for at least two suspects after a 24-year-old man was stabbed early Monday morning.

Police said the stabbing occurred near Pilgrims Way and Nottinghill Gate in Oakville at about 12:20 a.m. as the victim and two friends were out for a walk.

The victim and his friends got into an altercation with a group of teenagers in a four-door, blue Hyundai vehicle, and then walked towards St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church.

As two of the teen followed the group, the victim turned to confront the pair and was stabbed during a second altercation, police said.

The suspects fled, and the victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A knife that police believe was used in the stabbing was recovered at the scene.

Police said the first male suspect is white, 16 or 17 years old, and five-foot-10 with a slim build and black shaggy hair. He was wearing a black baseball cap backwards and a white long-sleeve T-shirt, and he was carrying a black backpack.

The second suspect is white, about 16 years old, and five feet tall with a stocky build and curly black hair. He was wearing a dark baseball cap and navy shirt, and he was carrying a black backpack.
