Police say they are searching for two male suspects after a large sum of money was allegedly stolen from a family who planned to put the cash toward the purchase a home.

According to police, on Aug. 6 at approximately 1:30 p.m., a Toronto family went to a currency exchange business near Yonge Street and Centre Avenue and made a large withdrawal.

The money was placed inside a backpack and police say the family then went into a restaurant near Yonge Street and Churchill Avenue.

Investigators say two unknown males watched the victims take the money out at the currency exchange business and followed them to the restaurant.

While the family was lining up to order food, police say one of the two suspects snatched the bag that was left at the family's table.

The first suspect is described as a white male who is between the ages of 50 and 60. He was seen wearing a stripped, short collared shirt, blue jeans, and black and white sneakers.

The second suspect is described as a white male who is between the ages of 35 to 45. Police say he was wearing a white golf shirt, beige shorts and a baseball cap.
