Toronto police have released a photo of a person of interest being sought in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found behind a Riverdale butcher shop earlier this year.

The remains of 30-year-old Melissa Cooper were discovered behind the shop in the Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East area on April 19. She had been reported missing several weeks before her remains were found.

One person was charged with second-degree murder in connection with Cooper’s death back in August.

Police told CP24.com Thursday that they have been aware of another person of interest in the case for some time, but have had no luck identifying him so far. Investigators would not say how they believe the man is connected to the case, but they are hoping that the public might be able to help identify him.

In the meantime, the person previously arrested in the case is set to make a court appearance Friday.

Albert Ian Ohab, 38, is charged with second-degree murder. He is also facing a charge of indignity to a body.

Police are asking anyone with information about the person in the photo to contact investigators at 416-808-7400 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
