A professor has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a stabbing on the University of Toronto St. George campus Wednesday afternoon.

It happened at the Earth Sciences Centre on Russell Street near Spadina Avenue at around 3:30 p.m.

According to police, one suspect was quickly apprehended on scene and has been taken to 52 Division for questioning. 

In a statement, the University of Toronto said it "will cooperate fully with the police as needed."
