Protesters are expected to greet Prime Minister Stephen Harper when he visits an auto plant in Oakville Friday morning.

Harper is scheduled to visit the Ford plant to make an announcement about the auto industry but activists involved with the ongoing Idle No More movement are staging a demonstration.

Protesters have been marching and holding blockades in order to call attention to problems plaguing First Nations communities.

Northern Ontario chief Theresa Spence has been on a hunger strike since mid-December, demanding a meeting with Harper to discuss the issues.
