INGERSOLL, Ont. -- Provincial police say an Ingersoll woman was injured after jumping out a window when police arrived to investigate a disturbance.

Police say the 49-year-old woman jumped out of a second storey window around 10:30 p.m. Friday in what they believe was an attempt to evade police.

The woman was located a short time later in the southwestern Ontario town.

She was taken to hospital for a serious injury related to the fall.

Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is probing the case.
