After five months of construction, 510 route streetcars are once again rolling along Spadina Avenue between King Street West and Spadina Station.

The TTC started work to rebuild parts of the tracks and passenger islands in June in order to accommodate longer, low-floor streetcars. Since then shuttle buses have been running along Spadina Ave. instead.

Earlier this week the TTC unveiled new streetcars that will run along certain routes on a trial basis. The routes for the new cars have not yet been determined but it’s possible that Spadina could serve as the first test.

In the meantime, shuttle buses will continue running to replace the cars south of King Street.

The TTC expects service to resume between King Street West and Queens Quay West by December.
