A local, sweet treat company has been awarded top honours.

Chapman’s Ice Cream now has an A+ ranking in the 2025 Harris Hundred Poll, a system that ranks the top 100 companies in the country based on public perception.

The 2025 CB Harris Hundred Poll – Trends in Canadian Corporate Reputation recognizes the public reputations of Canadian companies and Chapman’s came in at number two on the list, just behind the Professional Women’s Hockey League.

The study highlighted the reputation of businesses to Canadians, which reportedly consisted of over 8,000 interviews.

Chapman’s Ice Cream beat out international companies like Toyota and Samsung in the poll.

The ice cream maker also earned the distinctions of Canada’s Most Reputable and Most Trusted Brand. This isn’t the first time Chapman’s has received such positive recognition. The honour comes right on the heels of an international award at the International Ice Cream Consortium in October.

Chapman’s received praise for qualities like character, trustworthiness, and their perceived path for the future. There was also recognition for having similar values to those of Canadians.

“Chapman’s remarkable performance in Harris Poll Canada’s RQ study is a true reflection of what Canadians value most—trust, integrity, and a sense of homegrown pride,” President of The Harris Poll Canada Sara Cappe stated.

“In a year when Canadians have rallied around homegrown brands, Chapman’s success underscores the enduring power of Canadian authenticity and integrity in business,” she continued.

Amid the tariff war, Canadians are partial to Canadian companies now more than ever. According to Boston Consulting group, a recent survey found that over 80 per cent of Canadians prefer domestic products and are even willing to pay a premium for them.

Chapman’s Chief Operating Officer Ashley Chapman said, “We are committed to Canada, we always have been and Canadians showing their trust in our brand is the greatest feedback we could get.”

Chapman’s is a Canadian family-owned and operated ice cream maker located in Markdale and established in 1973.
