Team Canada just missed the podium at the World Junior Curling Championships in Taarnby, Denmark, on Tuesday.

The U20 men’s team from the Truro Curling Club in Truro, N.S., lost their semifinal 7-6 to Team U.S.A. Monday, sending them to the bronze-medal game against Team Scotland.

“Ten years ago, we were kids in jerseys gifted to us dreaming about what it might feel like to step onto the world stage. Now we are here, same stage, same maple leaf, playing in a medal game at Worlds. A dream that has come full circle,” reads a Facebook post by Team Canada.

After 10 ends, the Scots took home the hardware with a 9-8 victory.

The Canadian team — skip Calan MacIsaac, third Nathan Gray, second Owain Fisher, and lead Christopher McCurdy — had a 7-2 record after a week of round-robin play ahead of the playoffs.

The Italians and Americans met in the finals, with Team U.S.A. securing the gold medal with a 8-6 victory.
