A mainstay on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ defence for six seasons is calling it a career and retiring as a Bomber.
The team announced Monday that Adam Bighill signed a one-day deal to end his career with the blue and gold.
The middle linebacker started his CFL journey with the B.C. Lions, playing in 99 games between 2011 and 2016 and winning a Grey Cup in his first year with the team.
He then spent parts of a season with the New Orleans Saints in the NFL before joining the Blue Bombers in 2018.

In Winnipeg, he continued to assert his dominance, earning a pair of All-Star nods in 2018 and 2021. He was also named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player in both of those years.
Bighill was also a key contributor for the Bombers in the playoffs, helping the team win a pair of Grey Cup championships in 2019 and 2021.
He sits second in franchise history for the most tackles with 430 and sixth all-time in the CFL with 951.
In his 94 games with Winnipeg, he also managed 16 sacks, seven interceptions, and scored one touchdown.
He ended his playing career in Calgary in 2025, getting into six games with the Stampeders.
Bighill will speak to the media on Tuesday.
