The Toronto Blue Jays reinstated right-hander Trey Yesavage from the 15-day injured list on Tuesday before his scheduled start against the Boston Red Sox in the evening.

Yesavage was set to make his season debut at Rogers Centre after being sidelined with a right shoulder impingement.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider confirmed over the weekend that Yesavage would start the middle game of the three-game series.

Yesavage is Toronto’s top prospect and is still considered a rookie despite a breakout performance last year.

He made three regular-season starts last September and became one of Toronto’s top starters in the playoffs as the Blue Jays reached the World Series.

The Blue Jays optioned reliever Chase Lee to triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding roster move.
