Canada Soccer has signed Jesse Marsch to an extension that will see him serve as head coach of the national men’s soccer team through the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
The organization announced the move Monday as Marsch and the Canadian squad gathered in Charlotte, N.C., for a pre-World Cup training camp.
The 53-year-old American was named head coach of the national team in 2024 and the country has since gone 12-5-12, scoring 37 goals and conceding 23 across his 29 games in charge.
He guided Canada to the semifinals at the 2024 Copa America and helped the program climb to a record 26th place in FIFA’s global rankings in September 2025.
Marsch says in a statement that he feels a deep connection to the team, the country and the direction of the program, and believes Canada has tremendous potential with this generation of players.
Canada, currently ranked 30th in the world, is set to begin its World Cup quest on June 12 when it hosts Bosnia-Herzegovina in Toronto.
