The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed restricted free agent defenceman Emil Andrae to a two-year, $3.1 million contract that carries a cap hit of $1.55 million.

Andrae, 24, was acquired by the Toronto Maple Leafs, along with goalie Samuel Ersson and a draft pick, from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for goalie Joseph Woll and defenceman Simon Benoit on June 16.

He had two goals and 13 points in 61 games with the Flyers last season while averaging 15:20 of ice time. Andrae then added an assist in four playoff games while averaging 11:05 of ice time as the Flyers were eliminated in the second round.

The 5-foot-9, left-shot defenceman is coming off his three-year, entry-level contract.

Drafted 54th overall by the Flyers in 2020, Andrae has three goals and 20 points in 107 career NHL games.

The Vastervik, Sweden, native represented his country twice at the World Juniors, taking home a bronze medal in 2022.
