Another Vancouver Canucks jersey unveiling, another divided fanbase.
The team’s hometown remix uniform was revealed Monday, billed as a celebration of the “fans, fabric and culture of Vancouver.”
The blue-on-blue design features an “abstract deboss of the skyline reflecting in the bay” on the sleeves and a “stealth-mode orca” with silver eyes up front, reads a news release from the club.
The hem highlights the iconic lion statues that welcome drivers and pedestrians onto the Lions Gate Bridge.

As usual, there were some unhappy fans who did not hold back in their criticism on social media.
“Whoever designed these should be fired, and whoever approved them should be put in jail,” one commenter joked shortly after the unveiling.
“Blue, unoriginal and soulless,” wrote another. “That’s the fabric of Vancouver alright.”
Not everyone was so disappointed, with a few others on the X platform praising the design as “beautiful” and among the “cleanest” of the hometown remix uniforms rolled out for all 32 NHL teams.
The jerseys and matching apparel—including hoodies, hats, scarves and toques—were created over the course of two years in collaboration with the Fanatics, the league’s on-ice uniform provider.
The Canucks will don the new jerseys for six home games this season, beginning when they host the New York Rangers on Nov. 13 and ending when they face off against the Chicago Blackhawks on March 3.
