A two-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet while she sat in her mom's parked car Saturday night.

The little girl was sitting with her legs dangling out of the car on a driveway of a home on Sentinel Road, near Sheppard Avenue, at around 10:40 p.m. when she felt a projectile hit her leg.

Doctors who examined the child in hospital realized the projectile was in fact a bullet.

The child suffered a minor flesh wound and is expected to make a full recovery.

Meanwhile, police say they did not receive any reports of a shooting in the area and have no idea where the bullet originated from.

Neighbours told CP24 a graduation party was being held at the home last night but the festivities remained quiet and under control.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 31 Division at 416-808-3100 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.
