A big-budget Hollywood film is taking over part of the downtown core this weekend.

A massive helicopter crash was staged near Bay and Wellington streets as part of the filming of ‘Suicide Squad,’ tying up traffic around Union Station.

The comic book film, which is set to be released next year, stars Will Smith, Jared Leto and Margot Robbie.

The city’s film office confirmed to CP24 that a film shoot will also be closing down Yonge Street between College and King streets from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. from May 25 to May 28 however they would not say if it was for the production of ‘Suicide Squad.’
