Toronto police are asking for help locating a man wanted in connection with an assault on in the city's west end earlier this year.

Police said the incident happened between May 16 and May 17 in the area of Queen Street West and Jameson Avenue.

A man allegedly confronted an individual and proceeded to assault them. Police said the man also assaulted the person using a knife, resulting in injuries.

Later in July, the same suspect became involved with another confrontation with the same victim near Queen Street East and Victoria Street.

The suspect allegedly threatened the victim during the incident.

On Friday, police identified the suspect as 39-year-old Abdi Ahmed. He is wanted for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and three counts of uttering threats.

Police also released a photo of Ahmed, who is described as five-foot-six with a slim build, a shaved head and brown eyes.
