Five teenagers are facing charges after they allegedly stole golf carts from a locked area at a course in Uxbridge and then proceeded to go on a joyride with the vehicles.

Officers responded to the Foxbridge Golf Course on Reach Street shortly after midnight on June 20 after a witness spotted a number of teenagers driving the carts recklessly on the property.

According to police, the suspects caused extensive damage to the carts by deliberately colliding into one another. The suspects also caused substantial damage to the landscaped grounds, police say.

One suspect was arrested at the scene and further investigation has led to charges against four others.

The suspects, all males between the ages of 14 and 16, are each charged with break and enter and mischief over $5,000.

The suspects cannot be identified under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
