A little boy who stole the heart of his town with a bucket list wish to have a Christmas celebration in October has entered palliative care.

Seven-year-old Evan Leversage entered a hospice facility on Nov. 4, his family said Tuesday.

The little boy, who has an inoperable brain tumor, is said to be sleeping comfortably and without pain according to his mother.

Last month, the town of St. George, Ont. rallied together to hold a Christmas parade, complete with snow and a jolly Santa Claus after Evan made a bucket list that included one last Christmas celebration.

The story travelled around the world, with camera crews and reporters turning up to cover the winter wonderland in fall.

“He has had a full seven years with a lot of memorable moments. There is a sense of peace inside me because he got to experience it all,” his mother Nicole Wellwood told The Toronto Star.

She said that since making his bucket list in the summer, Evan has had the chance to attend a Leafs game, see Niagara Falls, eat out at Chuck E. Cheese’s, and watch “Hotel Transylvania 2” with his best friend.

A GoFundMe campaign has also raised tens of thousands of dollars to help cover living expenses for the family as Evan is cared for, as well as for RESP’s for his two brothers.

Evan’s family is partnering with the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada to raise money for brain tumour research through “Evan's Legacy,” a new subsidiary foundation named after him.
