Police have identified a Toronto couple slain in a double homicide over the weekend.
Ji (George) Jia, 59, and Shi (Shirley) Zhou, 51, were found dead in their home on Huntsmill Boulevard, near Victoria Park and Steeles avenues, on Sunday morning.
Officers went to the home after a cousin of the victims made a 911 call from a payphone on Steeles Avenue East.
Autopsies are scheduled to confirm how the couple died.
Police have not commented on the motive.
Their 26-year-old son, Li Tian Jia, was arrested at the scene and is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, police said in a news release.
He remains in custody after appearing in court Monday.
