Trains on the Barrie GO train line were stopped at Bradford station during the Thursday evening rush hour after a death on the tracks south of Barrie.

South Simcoe Police said a person’s body was found near the Innisfil 9th Line railroad crossing southeast of Stroud, about 14 kilometres south of Barrie. Police said the death is not considered to be suspicious.

An official from Metrolinx said trains were halted at Bradford and 185 passengers were taken to Barrie via buses.

A later radio problem forced Metrolinx to join trains together and make double stops at each station in paired units.

Trains were delayed as much as an hour and a half due to the fatality and the radio issue.
