BELLEVILLE, Ont. -- There have been a couple of deaths in eastern Ontario prisons.

Millhaven Institution assistant warden Vicki Willis says inmate Colin Weaver, 39, was found in need of medical attention in his cell at the prison west of Kingston on Tuesday.

Weaver, who had been serving a sentence of 20 years for manslaughter, robbery, disguise with intent and possession of a weapon contrary to a probation order, died in hospital on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, a 58-year-old inmate at the medium security Bath Institution west of Kingston was found unresponsive in his cell on Thursday.

Assistant warden Michele Vermette says Richard Chatelain, an inmate at the prison's Regional Treatment Centre, couldn't be revived.

Vermette says Chatelain had been serving an indeterminate sentence for second-degree murder and sexual assault.
