Two westbound lanes of Hwy. 401 are expected to be closed in Mississauga for several hours after a truck fire earlier this morning.

Toronto Fire Capt. Adrian Ratushniak said a tractor-trailer carrying peat moss struck a concrete barrier near Highway 427 at around 12:30 a.m. and caught fire.

Ratushniak said that a large amount of diesel leaked from the vehicle, which at one point was completely engulfed in flames.

No injuries were reported.

The fire was extinguished shortly before 1:30 a.m.

Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed from Highway 427 to Renforth Drive.

Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said that to repair the roadway, it will take between six and eight hours.
