One woman has died following a skydiving accident in Georgina, Ont. Saturday night.

At around 7:40 p.m., York Regional Police recieved a call about a female skydiver who had fallen to the ground on Homestead Road near Baldwin Airport.

ORNGE air ambulance confirmed they were called in but the request was later cancelled. Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman, who was in her late 20s, was an experienced diver, according to police.

Police have not released the female's identity and the events that led up to the accident are not clear at this time.

The accident occurred near the Parachute School of Toronto but police would not confirm if the woman was a student at the facility.

A police officer on scene told CTV News that the woman was skydiving with her boyfriend, who landed safely.

York Regional Police say they will be on the scene Saturday night as they continue to investigate.
