A 47-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries and a man was also hurt when they were hit by a tow truck at a busy Cabbagetown intersection Tuesday morning.
Police spokesman Const. Clint Stibbe said the pedestrians were struck by the vehicle at Parliament and Carlton streets at about 7 a.m.
The intersection is closed for an investigation.
The pedestrians were both transported to a trauma centre, a Toronto EMS spokesperson said.
Stibbe said the 59-year-old man's injuries are not life-threatening.
No one has been charged.
