Video showing a 63-year-old woman from Jamaica experiencing snow for the first time has garnered millions of views.

A video of a 63-year-old Jamaican woman experiencing snow for the first time has racked up millions of views online.

“I literally watched my mom turn into a six-year-old,” Lisa Shakespeare told ABC News from her home in Connecticut.

When heavy snow began falling over the weekend, Shakespeare grabbed her phone to film her mother’s reaction. Rose Peters has travelled from Jamaica to visit her daughter in the U.S. before, but never during the winter.

“I wanted to experience the snow, but I was afraid of the cold,” Peters told ABC News.

Bundled up in a parka and boots, Peters can be seen giggling, clapping and dancing as snow falls around her in the heartwarming video. She even makes her first snow angel and tries her hand at shovelling.

“All my friends that live here, they were like, ‘Does she want to come to my house next?’” Shakespeare said.

When it comes to another winter visit, Peters now says she’d make the trip “without hesitation.”
