Tens of thousands of people were unable to access the social media site X on Friday, according to a third-party outage-tracking website.
Nearly 5,700 people reported issues with the site and app formerly known as Twitter, according to DownDetector.ca. The international version of the site noted 51,000 outage reports.
The sites noted spikes in reports at around 10 a.m. EST, and again shortly before 11.
By 11:30 a.m., the international site showed 66,900 outage reports, while total reports in Canada had increased to 7,540.
It appeared fewer users were having issues later in the morning, and by 12:30 p.m., the number of reports had dipped to about 8,400 internationally, and 680 in Canada.
