Coldplay kiss cam HR executive hosting ‘taking back the narrative’ event

Coldplay singer Chris Martin may have caused an awkward moment when he commented on a CEO embracing a colleague at the band’s show in Boston.

One half of the pair “caught” on the Coldplay kiss cam is giving a speech on the topic of “taking back the narrative.” And for nearly US$900, you can see it for yourself.

Last summer, Kristin Cabot, 53, and her married boss, Andy Byron, were caught together at a Coldplay concert near Boston, Mass.

“Oh, look at these two,” Coldplay frontman said in a video that captured the incident. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

Coldplay’s Chris Martin cheekily warns fans they may get shown on camera Coldplay’s Chris Martin warned fans at a recent U.S. show that they may appear on video screens during the ‘Jumbotron Song’ after a couple went viral last week.

The clip of Cabot and Byron quickly separating when the kiss cam centres on them went viral. The pair worked for Astronomer, a New York-based tech company, with Byron as chief executive and Cabot as chief people officer. Both Cabot and Byron resigned within weeks of the incident.

“Online harassment, constant death threats, and 300 billion views to date: a never-ending media frenzy. From the outside, it was an amusing, if unflattering meme; but for her, everything changed that day,” the website promoting Cabot’s speech reads.

The event advertises Cabot, Dini von Mueffling and Jess Ruderman as speakers. Von Mueffling is the founder and CEO of Dini von Mueffling Communications, while Ruderman is the associate news editor for PRWeek. Von Mueffling worked as Cabot’s PR representative.

Cabot was separated from her husband when the incident occurred, but Byron was married at the time.

“Cabot experienced firsthand the extremity of public shaming that women have long experienced when in the negative spotlight of the media, one their male counterparts often seem to avoid,” the event description said.
