A sauce commonly found on the side of chicken wings, salads and pizza is taking centre field after the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) reminded travellers not to go overboard with the divisive condiment.

In light of the FIFA World Cup, the TSA took to social media to remind visitors not to overpack ranch dressing in their carry-on luggage.

“If you’re visiting for a very large sporting event & happen to discover RANCH while you’re here…pls pack it in your CHECKED BAG on the way home,” the agency wrote on a multi-slide Instagram post.

“Ok please avoid chugging your ranch outside security,” another slide read. “The airline will check it for you.”

In the post’s caption, the TSA said that while the “king of condiments” pairs perfectly with many foods, if you’re travelling within the U.S., “make sure to keep your carry-on sauces to 3.4 oz or less, and place any larger containers in your checked bags.”

In the comments section, many brands couldn’t help but chime in.

“I approve this message,” wrote the account from Hidden Valley, a popular brand of ranch dressing.

“Does this apply for ketchup too or just ranch? (asking for a friend),” Heinz added.

Since the start of the World Cup, travellers from around the world have been documenting their experiences with American food. One Swedish influencer got nine million views on a post that read “Why did no one tell me ranch sauce is like crack? EUROPE WE NEED RANCH ASAP.”

Some users in the comments section advised travellers to get powdered ranch packets, which they could easily make once they’re back home.
