TORONTO - Occupy Toronto protestors are planning to mark the six-month anniversary of their former encampment in a downtown park.

Demonstrators are expected to gather around 2 p.m. at St. James Park, just east of the country's financial hub.

The group set up camp in the park on Oct. 15, part of a global movement condemning economic inequality.

City officials opposed the tent village, as did some residents and businesses in the neighbourhood.

The protestors were evicted in late November.

Later attempts to camp out on city or provincial property were short-lived.
