Toronto police have released the photo of a suspect wanted in connection with a Saturday night stabbing.

Police allege that the male victim had his face slashed and was stabbed in the back after trying to intervene in an altercation between a man and a woman in the Dupont Street and Lansdowne Avenue area shortly after 9 p.m.

The suspect was last seen running eastbound on Dupont Street, police say.

Police have identified the suspect as Garvin Green, 37, of Toronto.

He is wanted for aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Police believe Green is armed and dangerous.
