Travel is more than just picking a city to explore and visit, it’s also about choosing the right neighbourhood to spend most of your time in. At least that’s what Airbnb finds, as their typical guest spends about half their money in the neighbourhood of the place they’re renting, and more travellers are picking some of Canada’s trendiest neighbourhoods to stay in. From bustling communities brimming with restaurants and shops to neighbourhoods with a more naturalistic feel, these are the trendiest neighbourhoods in Canada, according to Airbnb.

Canada’s trendiest neighbourhoods More than half of guests (58 per cent) indicated they wouldn’t have visited the neighbourhood of their listing if it weren’t for staying there, and 62 per cent shared that staying in that neighbourhood made them feel more like a local. Airbnb identified the 10 trendiest neighbourhoods across Canada which are seeing the highest influx of visitors this summer.
Hastings-Sunrise, Vancouver, B.C. East of downtown Vancouver is Hastings-Sunrise, which one local host describes as a “peaceful neighbourhood” lined with mom-and-pop restaurants, pubs and breweries. Its location provides guests quick enough access to downtown, and the promise of “skiing and hiking within the hour.” (Destination Vancouver)
North End, Kelowna, B.C. Though North End is in the heart of B.C.’s wine country, the neighbourhood offers visitors waterfront views, an array of local breweries, and bike paths that can take you all the way up to Knox Mountain.
