Some 1,100 city employees may be handed pink slips as part of cost-cutting measures included within the city's 2012 budget.

The announcement today at city hall comes after word earlier this week that the city planned to cut roughly 2,300 positions through buyouts, layoffs and other measures.

According to numbers released Wednesday, 666 union jobs will be eliminated, while another 643 vacant positions will remain unfilled.

Other cuts include 152.5 Toronto Public Library jobs and 324 TTC jobs.

Toronto Police Services will see 372 vacant positions cut.
