WHITBY - Durham regional police say 32 people have been arrested following a seven-week investigation into outdoor marijuana grow-ops.
Police say they also seized 11 firearms during the operation called Mosquito 2.
Investigators say 55 grow-ops were discovered with the help of a police helicopter and tips from the public.
The 32 suspects are charged with 135 offences.
Officers seized nearly 8,600 marijuana plants, 38 pounds of dried marijuana and $18,645 in cash.
Police say cornfields are a popular location for marijuana grow-ops.
