Man rushed to hospital following stabbing

A man in his 20s is currently in hospital in stable condition following a stabbing Friday night.

Toronto police Det. Robert Whalen says that the call reporting the incident in the Queen Street East and Broadview Avenue area came in at around 8:30 p.m. after the victim approached a TTC streetcar operator.

The victim was stabbed twice in the back after a verbal altercation with four other males turned physical, Whalen says.

Whalen says police have surveillance video of the suspects.

No suspect discriptions have been provided by police.

Man in serious condition after being struck by vehicle

An elderly man is in hospital with serious injuries after he was struck by a vehicle Friday evening.

Police say the man was struck in the area of Finch and Wilfred avenues at around 6 p.m.

Westbound Finch Avenue East is currently closed between Longmore Street and Maxome Avenue as police investigate.

The closure is expected to last a couple of hours, police say.
