Toronto saw its seventh homicide of the year on Tuesday night when a young man died after being shot in the chest in a robbery.

Officers responded to a call at 11 Antrim Crescent, near Highway 401 and Kennedy Road at about 8:40 p.m. and found a 30-year-old man's body inside the first floor apartment. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alexis Eraculeous was shot in the chest. Police say he was a student at Centennial College and lived in the apartment with his mother, who was working at the time of the shooting. Police say the victim was known to them.

Witnesses say they heard three shots fired. Police say property was stolen and drugs may have been a motive behind the incident.

Police are looking for two suspects and an older four-door possibly black or dark grey car involved in the case.

The first suspect is described as a 21-year-old white male; about five foot six, wearing a black baseball hat backwards with a dark hooded bomber jacket, white running shoes and jeans.

The second suspect is described as a black male in his early twenties, about six feet and 180 pounds. He was wearing rimmed glasses, a black hoodie with a Carhartt jacket and Nike shoes. He was seen carrying a handgun.

Police are also looking for two persons of interest who they believe might have seen something last night.

Investigators are trying to determine if the victim knew the suspects. Police are appealing to the public to come forward with any information.
