Toronto police have identified the man found dead on an Etobicoke lawn early Sunday morning.

A man out walking his dog spotted the body in front of a home on Midden Crescent, near The Westway and Martin Grove Road, at around 7 a.m.

At a press conference Monday night, police say the victim, identified as 33-year-old Edwin Villan, was shot in the head.

Police say Villan was the father of a young child and was not known to police.

Investigators are appealing to the public for help in mapping Villan’s activities and whereabouts early Sunday morning.

Police have also released the description of a man wanted in connection with the case.

He is described as white, 30 to 40 years old, five-foot-10 to six feet tall.

He was last seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt, light-coloured baseball cap and beige pants.

On Sunday, police released a description of a vehicle sought in connection with the case.

The vehicle is described as a late-model, dark-coloured Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra pickup truck with aftermarket tires and rims.

A portion of a damaged hubcap, which police believe came off the vehicle, was located at the scene.
