Toronto police have identified the man fatally shot at an ice cream shop in Little Italy Monday afternoon.

John Raposo, 35, of Toronto, was killed in what police say was a targeted shooting.

Witnesses at the scene on Monday told CP24 that a tall man dressed in construction clothing walked into the Sicilian Sidewalk Cafe on College Street at Montrose Avenue and shot the victim in the head from close range at around 3:30 p.m.

Reports from the scene said that as many as five shots were fired.

A second male victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At around 7 p.m. Monday evening, Toronto police released a description of the suspect.

Police are looking for a white male, approximately six feet tall, with dirty blond, shoulder-length hair. He was last seen wearing an orange safety vest with a green ‘x' on it, white hard hat and a filter mask.

The suspect fled north from the scene on foot.

Neighbours in the area are being asked to check their property for any items that might have been discarded by the suspect as he fled the scene.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police.
