Toronto police have released security camera footage and images of 17-year-old Mariam Makhniashvili that were taken the day before she went missing.

The footage on YouTube shows the teen and her brother at Union Station on September 13. The pair was on their way to Marilyn Bell Park to volunteer for the Dragon Boat races.

Investigators have released the footage in hopes of a break in the search for a Grade 11 student from Forest Hill Collegiate who has been missing for more than a week.

Meanwhile, new information about her father surfaced on Tuesday.

Vakhtang Makhniashvili, who previously lived in Los Angeles, was acquitted on charges of lewd conduct after he was allegedly performing sexual acts alone in his car, says Frank Mateljan of L.A.’s Office of the City Attorney.

The case stemmed from reports made by the public to police. The incident allegedly took place in November 2008, but Vakhtang Makhniashvili was acquitted in April. The incident does not appear on his criminal record.

Toronto police have confirmed to CP24 that they are aware he was known to Los Angeles Police.

It was a week ago on Monday that 17-year-old Mariam Makhniashvili was last seen by her 16-year-old brother outside their school.

The two moved here in May from the Republic of Georgia, joining their parents who had spent the past five years in the United States.
