Police have charged a 20-year-old man from Alliston, Ont., in connection with allegedly making a threat against Premier Doug Ford.
The investigation began on Feb. 13 by the OPP Protective Services Section (PSS) and resulted in the man being arrested and charged with one count of uttering threats to cause harm.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Anyone with information on this matter is asked to contact OPP or Crime Stoppers.
“Everyone has a right to feel safe,” says Inspector Anton Jelich with PSS. “The OPP takes matters involving threats seriously, regardless of who experiences them, and will fully investigate.”
When CTV News inquired about the nature of the threat, OPP said it was unable to provide further details to protect the integrity of the investigation and future court proceedings.
