BROCHET, Man. - Mounties trying to end a standoff with an armed man in northern Manitoba used Facebook to negotiate his surrender.
RCMP say there was no phone service available at the home in the isolated community of Brochet.
But there was Internet.
The incident happened earlier this week when RCMP received a complaint that a woman was assaulted in the home and a man inside was threatening others inside with a rifle.
A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged with several offences, including assault with a weapon, uttering threats and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
