Reaction to the Wednesday's Mumbai attacks has been flowing across the World Wide web as people blog, comment, "Tweet" and post media related to the tragedy.

Twitscoop.com, a website that monitors what people are saying on Twitter.com, detected several commonly used words connected to Wednesday's events. These included Mumbai, Mumbai Taj, firing, rescue and concerned.

Twitter is a service designed to let people share what they're doing with others in posts as brief as Facebook status updates.

People first started "Tweeting" about Mumbai around noon Toronto time, with the term peaking off just before 6 p.m.

Many people are writing on Twitter about what various news outlets are reporting, while some are offering their prayers for the victim.

One website is calling on people to offer their prayers for those affected in the tragedy.

The Internet has also been used as a way for people to find out what's going on from as close to the source as possible, as people head to the websites of local news outlets in the midst of the situation.

Members of photo sharing service Flickr have also been posting pictures from the midst of the carnage, bypassing the traditional route of newswires.
