Nazem Kadri is getting another chance with the Maple Leafs as the team battles for a spot in the NHL playoffs.

After a brief stint in the NHL earlier this season, the rookie forward has been recalled by the Leafs to fill a roster spot that opened due to an injury.

Kadri played 17 games with the Leafs in November and December, recording six assists and putting up a minus-4 rating, but was returned to the minors.

He is still looking for his first NHL goal.

Kadri has spent most of the season with the AHL's Toronto Marlies, where he scored 17 goals and picked up 24 assists in 44 games.

The 20 year old was Toronto's first pick in the 2009 Entry Draft.

A roster spot opened after rugged forward Colby Armstrong suffered a broken foot in Monday night's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Kadri is expected to be in the Leafs' lineup when the visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday night.
