OTTAWA - The Vanier Cup champion Laval Rouge et Or swept the final Canadian Interuniversity Sport football player of the week awards Wednesday.

Running back Maxime Boutin took the offensive player honour after rushing 24 times for a personal-best 253 yards in Laval's 37-14 win over McMaster in last Friday's championship game.

Defensive end Arnaud Gascon-Nadon earned the defensive player honour after posting 3.5 tackles and a half-sack in the victory. He also helped Laval hold the Marauders to just 75 rushing yards.

Kicker Boris Bede took the special-teams nod. He kicked four field goals and posted a 72-yard kickoff average.

Also Wednesday, Justine Colley of Saint Mary's was named CIS female athlete of the week while fellow basketball player Jimmy Dorsey of Cape Breton took the male athlete of the week honour.
