She's a singer.

But before the day is out, Mindy McCready will likely be in the slammer.

She is to surrender to authorities in Tennessee to start serving a 60-day sentence.

She will do the time for violating her probation -- a probation that stems from a 2004 drug charge.

Her attorney says McCready has struck a deal with prosecutors in Williamson County.

The 32-year-old was charged in June with violating her probation by not being truthful about her community service records.

In a statement, the singer says she wants to put the matter behind her as soon as possible.

She also says she wants to regain custody of her young son -- and get back to her musical career, a career that has been sidetracked by personal issues lately.
