TORONTO - Toronto's downtown core was abuzz with holiday cheer on Sunday afternoon as the annual Santa Claus Parade came to town.
Onlookers young and old lined the parade route (which stretched from Christie Pits Park to the St. Lawrence Market) as the event marked its 108th anniversary.
The spectacle included animated floats, energetic clowns, multiple marching bands and more than 2,000 participants in colourful costumes.
The event even offered its own iPhone app through which onlookers could track Santa's location along the parade route.
Organizers say the Toronto event is the longest running children's parade in the world.
Paula Arujo appreciates the event's longevity -- for her, attending the parade was a chance to share a memory of her childhood with her kids.
