A suspect is in custody following a triple homicide in Etobicoke Monday night, a representative with Toronto police has confirmed.

Police say they responded to a 911 call for three deceased persons at a townhouse complex on Old Burnhamthorpe Road shortly before 7 p.m.

“Officers arrived on scene and confirmed that there were three people that had been involved in a violent situation and they were confirmed deceased,” Toronto police Insp. Tim Crone told CP24 at the scene.

“Investigations are still ongoing at this point,” Crone said. “It’s still very early in the investigation. Homicide has taken over as lead investigators for the scene.”

Police have not yet confirmed the identities of the deceased. None of the victims are children, Crone said.

The relationship between the suspect and the victims was also not disclosed.

Crone said the suspect, armed with a knife, was located in the area soon after police arrived at the scene.

“We negotiated with the suspect over a short period of time and subsequently he surrendered,” Crone said.

Police are currently canvassing the area looking for potential witnesses.
